About the Role

At Stark, we forge the future of European and national security through cutting-edge, AI-driven technology and unmatched engineering precision. As a premier defence technology company, our mission is clear: to equip NATO Allies and their partners with next-generation autonomous defence platforms and advanced AI-driven software built to perform in the world’s most demanding environments. We believe that true security stems from relentless innovation. By combining elite engineering talent with agile technology and an AI-native operational culture, Stark turns complex defence challenges into field-tested, multi-domain solutions.

WHY JOIN US

  • The software and systems you work on directly protect personnel and defend European and national sovereignty.
  • You will work alongside industry-leading minds on autonomous systems, advanced propulsion, and secure cyber platforms.
  • We foster a fast-paced, collaborative environment where bold ideas are supported by serious R&D backing.

ABOUT THE TEAM

You will join our C/UAS (Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems) engineering team dedicated to building deployable, mission-critical defense solutions. We focus on rapid iteration, hands-on assembly, and field readiness for complex autonomous systems. Work directly alongside hardware, systems, and field deployment engineers in an agile, highly collaborative, and execution-focused environment.

YOUR MISSION

As a Prototyping Engineer for the C/UAS program, you will play a central role in transforming concepts into physical, deployable technology. You will lead the physical containerization and modular integration of our Counter-UAS platforms for rapid tactical deployment in the field. Additionally, you will drive the hands-on assembly, integration, and initial build-up of complex system hardware across our C/UAS portfolio.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AT STARK

  • Design and implement modular containerization solutions for C/UAS platforms to support rapid, field-ready deployment.
  • Lead the hands-on assembly, build-up, and mechanical integration of C/UAS prototype systems and hardware components.
  • Develop and construct custom mechanical enclosures, mounting structures, and sub-assemblies for rapid testing.
  • Collaborate with systems and payload integration engineers to ensure seamless mechanical and electrical interfaces.
  • Conduct physical integration testing and troubleshooting of prototype systems under operational constraints.
  • Iterate rapidly on hardware modifications and design refinements based on ground and flight test evaluation feedback.
  • Maintain detailed assembly documentation, build records, and prototyping bill of materials (BOMs).

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE MISSION

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in rapid mechanical/mechatronic prototyping, system integration, or hardware build-up.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization, modular system packaging, or mobile deployment units.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) for prototyping and mechanical design.
  • Strong hands-on technical skills with fabrication tools, wiring harnesses, and mechanical assembly techniques.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with defense technology, unmanned aerial systems (UAVs), or Counter-UAS platforms.
  • Familiarity with environmental testing standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810) for ruggedized equipment.
  • Prior work in fast-paced startup environments or defense hardware prototyping labs. If you're interested in building the future of European Defence with us, and you see yourself reflected on the description above, please send us your CV in English . We're looking forward to meeting you!

SECURITY CLEARANCE

Due to the nature of our work in the defence sector, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance required for this position. Details will be provided during the recruitment process.
