Your missionPosition SummaryThe Business Development Manager will be responsible for designing and executing a structured customer acquisition and PR strategy, expanding our client portfolio, and strengthening long-term partnerships within the maritime sector. The role combines strategic planning, high-level relationship management, commercial negotiation, and close coordination with operational teams.This position reports directly to the Managing Director.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic DevelopmentDevelop and implement a structured customer acquisition strategy aligned with company growth objectivesDesign and execute a targeted PR and market positioning strategyContribute to the further development of Nordic Hamburg Crewing Services’ business segmentsSupport projects aimed at revenue optimization and service enhancementSales & Client AcquisitionIdentify and acquire new customers within the maritime industryEstablish and maintain direct contact with decision-makers (shipowners, technical managers, fleet managers)Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations and commercial proposalsRepresent Nordic Hamburg Crewing Services and associated services (e.g., Martide) at industry events, conferences, and trade fairsNegotiate service contracts and commercial terms in close coordination with the Managing DirectorDevelop and negotiate budgets for offers in close coordination with the Managing DirectorKey Account ManagementMaintain and systematically expand the existing client networkAct as primary commercial point of contact for customersGather client feedback and coordinate solutions with operational teamsEnsure structured feedback loops and professional communication of solutions back to customersCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with operational crewing teams to ensure commercial commitments are operationally feasibleAlign sales strategy with management and internal stakeholdersProvide market intelligence and competitor insights to support strategic decisionsYour profileDegree in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, Shipping Management, or a comparable fieldSeveral years of experience in business development, commercial management, or sales within the maritime or crew management sectorStrong understanding of maritime operations and crewing structuresDemonstrated experience in contract negotiation and budget developmentEstablished network within the shipping industry is highly advantageousExcellent communication and presentation skillsEntrepreneurial mindset with a structured and analytical approachFluent in English (German advantageous)Why us?Direct reporting line to executive managementHigh degree of autonomy and strategic influenceOpportunity to actively shape business growth and market positioningDynamic, internationally oriented working environmentPerformance-driven development perspectiveAbout UsAt Nordic, we thrive on our funding principle of staying adaptive and dynamic.
