About The Role

We are seeking a talented Software Developer to join our Web Team at Sandbox Interactive GmbH. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the operational infrastructure that ensures a seamless experience for our global player base. While your focus will not be on game development itself, you will manage and enhance vital web services such as the Albion Online website, registration and login systems, in-game purchase processes, and operational tools for shop management and customer support. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability, performance, and security of our online services, which operate around the clock to serve our vibrant community.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both frontend and backend web development, with a particular emphasis on creating intuitive, high-fidelity web UI components. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to develop, optimize, and modernize our infrastructure, ensuring it remains scalable and resilient. Your expertise will help us maintain high standards of code quality through rigorous code reviews, testing, and issue resolution, ultimately supporting the continued success and growth of Albion Online.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field. You should have over three years of professional experience as a software engineer, with a proven track record in both backend and frontend development, especially web UI design. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential for effective collaboration within our international team. You should have a solid understanding of microservice architecture, API design, and RESTful services, along with experience working with relational databases. A passion for implementing web layouts with high fidelity to original designs and a keen eye for detail are important qualities for this role.

Preferred qualifications include practical experience with PHP and the Symphony framework, as well as familiarity with Redis and RabbitMQ, which will be advantageous in supporting our complex infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to develop and enhance web-based services supporting Albion Online’s infrastructure.Design, develop, and maintain both frontend and backend systems, with a focus on creating user-friendly and visually accurate web UI components.Support the evolution of existing systems into modern, scalable architectures to improve performance and reliability.Participate actively in code reviews to uphold high standards of code quality and best practices across the team.Implement and improve unit and integration tests for microservices to ensure robustness and stability.Monitor, analyze, and resolve issues in the production environment promptly to minimize downtime and maintain service quality.Contribute to documentation and technical specifications, facilitating knowledge sharing within the team.
