About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Generative AI Engineer to join our pioneering team at IQVIA LLC. This full-time position based in Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany, offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of the Orion platform, a state-of-the-art infrastructure designed to accelerate the creation and deployment of Generative AI products. As a Senior Generative AI Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of AI-driven healthcare solutions by designing scalable and efficient AI platforms, standardizing technology stacks, and providing essential components that foster rapid innovation. Your expertise will help shield application teams from complex technical challenges, allowing them to focus on delivering impactful AI applications. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of AI architectures, cloud platforms, and software engineering best practices, contributing directly to the advancement of our AI capabilities and healthcare innovations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background with a Master’s Degree in Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field. A minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record in AI development, particularly in Generative AI, is essential. Deep expertise in transformer architectures, large language models (LLMs), embedding models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI agents is required. Candidates should have extensive experience in designing robust software architectures for large-scale platforms, along with a solid understanding of software development and delivery best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control, and testing methodologies. Proficiency in cloud platforms, preferably Azure, advanced Python programming, and web technologies such as JavaScript is necessary. Additional skills in data engineering, machine learning engineering, performance optimization, and familiarity with Databricks are considered a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and architect the Orion Generative AI Platform to support scalable, secure, and efficient deployment of AI products.Implement strategies to accelerate the development and delivery lifecycle of Generative AI solutions, ensuring timely and quality outputs.Develop and enforce standardized technology stacks, best practices, and coding standards across projects to maintain high quality and consistency.Create and provide reusable components, tools, and frameworks that enable application teams to innovate rapidly without reinventing core functionalities.Abstract and manage complex technical challenges, providing a technical shield that allows application teams to focus on application-specific functionalities.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including data scientists, product managers, and software engineers—to understand their needs and seamlessly integrate Generative AI solutions.Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, continuously enhancing platform capabilities and innovation potential.Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards relevant to healthcare and AI applications.
