In this pivotal role, you will spearhead innovative projects within the intralogistics domain, working in an interdisciplinary and international environment. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement advanced data science solutions that drive operational improvements and strategic decision-making. You will take ownership of complex algorithms and AI/ML models, ensuring they align with business objectives and deliver measurable value.

Staying abreast of the latest research and technological advancements in data science, particularly in natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and agentic AI, will be crucial. As a key internal resource, you will share your expertise with colleagues, promote best practices, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of our data science capabilities. Additionally, representing SSI SCHÄFER at industry conferences and events will be part of your responsibilities, helping to position the company as a thought leader in the field.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background with a completed degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.

A minimum of five years of professional experience in data science, with a focus on large language models and NLP, is required. You should demonstrate expertise in developing sophisticated algorithms and AI/ML models, with practical experience using frameworks such as Hugging Face, LangChain, and scikit-learn. Proficiency in programming languages like Python and SQL is essential, along with familiarity with MLOps practices, deployment tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of cloud platforms, especially Azure, and software engineering principles will be advantageous. Candidates must exhibit a self-driven, customer-oriented, and flexible working style, with a passion for exploring new topics and solving complex problems. Strong analytical thinking, creativity, and a "can-do" attitude are vital, along with fluency in German (minimum C1) and English (minimum C1).
