Job Description As the person helping Brainlab R&D turn AI potential into everyday progress, you will work with our R&D AI community to find where generative and agentic AI can improve how we work inside R&D, remove friction from engineering workflows and automate suitable tasks. This role is about enabling R&D teams and processes - not about developing AI capabilities for Brainlab products. It is hands-on: depending on where we are on the implementation journey, you may be the builder who turns an idea into a working pilot, or the enabler who helps a team adopt and scale what works. In practice, it will always be a bit of both. You will work across requirements, software development, testing, documentation, localization and further project work - and see your ideas move from first experiment to meaningful use.

Your success is measured by whether R&D teams can use AI confidently, safely and effectively in their daily work.

Your tasks include:

Contribute to the R&D AI strategy by finding and prioritizing useful AI applications together with the AI community across R&D and define how success will be measured.

Coordinate, build and test pilots for requirements, software architecture & development, testing, documentation, localization and project work.

Facilitate a well-structured R&D knowledge base that AI tools can use reliably.

Structure Brainlab data sources for AI access

Create reusable AI workflows, agent harnesses, skills and automations with clear access limits, audit trails and human review where needed.

Agree safe-use rules with IT, Security, Legal, Quality and Regulatory, covering data, IP and human oversight.

Train teams, document lessons and scale solutions that work.

Qualifications

A degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, Engineering or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.

Hands-on experience with GenAI or LLMs. Be ready to show what you built and what you learned.

Experience with basic benchmarking/evaluation workflows to assess model quality, accuracy, and suitability for specific use cases.

Experience with AI harnesses, Retrieval/RAG, Agents and MCPs, Agentic AI integration

Good judgment about AI risks, including incorrect answers, data leakage and confidentiality; you know when human review is needed.

Clear and enthusiastic communication, structured work and a practical mindset; able to work independently and across disciplines.

Fluent written and spoken English.

Medical technology, regulated R&D or quality experience is a plus.
