What You Do
We optimise and market a growing portfolio of flexible assets on European power markets - battery storage, aggregated EV fleets and renewable generation. Our multi-market optimisation and execution is purely algorithm-driven and fully automated. What decides whether we make money is the quality of our market view: price patterns, forecasts, fundamental models and the assessment of risk.
- You own price and generation forecasting across and keep the short-term and long-term views consistent
- You develop and implement analytical models and forecasting tools to assess electricity and renewable energy markets as well as delivering data-driven insights and signals for our trading decisions
- You assess market trends, regulatory developments and new markets quantitatively, providing the basis for country and product decisions
- You lead a team of 5-7 analysts & data scientists, develop them technically and coach them in their personal growth
- You work closely with Trading Desk, Portfolio Management, Pricing, Sales and Product, building the bridge to develop cutting edge products and services
- You create reports, monitorings and benchmarks to derive actionable insights for trading, senior management and other stakeholders
- You own risk: the limit system, the monitoring of positions and exposures, scenario and stress-test methodology, and risk reporting to the Head of Trading and the management board
Who You Are
- Several years of experience in quantitative analysis on European power markets - forecasting, fundamental modelling or risk
- A solid understanding of day-ahead, intraday and ancillary services, capacity and local flexibility markets, and of how prices form in them
- Experience in technical leadership - or a clearly visible step towards it - with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- The ability to translate quantitative findings so that the management board and stakeholders can make decisions based on them
- Business-fluent English and German is a plus
