Join us as a (Senior) Platform Engineer (all genders) in our Developer Experience Platform team (DevEx) and help shape the future of autonomous mobility!
The Developer Experience Platform team is responsible for enabling product teams within MOIA to develop, operate, and maintain their services in an efficient and compliant way. You will join a cross-functional team that is passionate about creating the best developer and user experience possible. The team's current focus is on leveling up the company on its agentic coding journey and keeping it in balance with the high compliance and security standards needed by the product. The DevEx team owns large parts of the platform that enable the teams at MOIA to develop and deliver software solutions.
What you will do
- Gain an in-depth understanding of MOIA's challenges and contribute to solving these by contributing with a visionary and implementable view for the software development lifecycle.
- Design, implement, and operate our Developer Platform focusing on the CI/CD pipeline and GitOps workflow. We are continuously working on improving our platform and tooling, e.g., to further automate the release process, improve security, and enhance the developer experience for the product teams.
- Support and coach other engineers within MOIA on technical topics and best practices related to the Developer Platform and SDLC, helping them to excel in their daily work by fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of Kubernetes-based infrastructure, Docker containerization, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of MOIA's services.
- Drive the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using Terraform, making sure our infrastructure is well-defined, version-controlled, and easily reproducible.
- Build and manage observability tools and systems (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry), enabling teams to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize their applications effectively.
- Implement and enforce security best practices across the platform and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Contribute to the team's agile processes, continuously improving our workflows, tooling, and collaboration models to deliver high-quality software efficiently.
Your Profile
- You have 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or a similar role, with a strong focus on cloud-native technologies and developer experience.
- You have profound experience with Kubernetes in a production environment, including its ecosystem and operational aspects.
- You are experienced in designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitOps principles and tools.
- You are proficient in one or more programming languages like Go, Python, Java, Kotlin, or Rust, and you have a solid understanding of software development best practices.
- You possess hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and a good understanding of cloud computing concepts (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP).
- You have practical experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures, including challenges and solutions related to their operation.
- You have a strong understanding of Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
- You are passionate about developer experience, automation, and continuous improvement.
- You are a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders and driving technical discussions.
- Fluent in English. German is a plus.
