Mechatronics Development Engineer (m/f/d)

About the Role at RobCo

RobCo is building the category of Autonomous Industrial Robotics and we're doing it fast. In this key role, you act as a critical link between our modular hardware components and real-world customer applications. Your focus is on building, testing, and solving complex technical challenges to develop tailored automation setups, eliminating mechanical and electrical friction through smart mechatronic troubleshooting.

Your Responsibilities

• End-to-End Build & Test: assemble, wire, configure, and validate peripheral devices and modular mechatronic subsystems end-to-end
• Testing & Validation: conduct rigorous functional testing and verification of hardware setups
• Iterative Problem Solving: diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and basic software integration issues
• Peripheral Standardization: develop and standardize peripheral devices connected to our robots
• Requirements Translation: abstract complex requirements and translate them into actionable work packages
• Solution Development: collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Solution Development, and customers
• Continuous Optimization & Documentation: identify hardware limitations or bugs, develop modifications, and document procedures

We're Looking for Someone Who Has

• Completed vocational training or a degree in Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical field
• Initial practical experience in assembling, testing, or troubleshooting mechatronic or robotic systems
• An iterative approach: comfortable with ambiguity and trial-and-error
• A holistic engineering approach and a growth mindset
• Solid foundational knowledge of electrical circuits, sensor integration, wiring diagrams, and mechanical components
• A structured and pragmatic working style with a strong ownership mindset
• Very good English skills (German is a plus)
