Your Journey
ROMEO is the queer company behind the legendary ROMEO dating app, one of Europe's longest-standing dating platforms for queer communities. We are looking for a Product Owner to join our Product team in Berlin and help shape how ideas and product requirements make their way into the hands of millions of users.
In this delivery-focused role, you will work closely with Product Management, Design, Engineering, QA and BI to turn product priorities into clear, actionable work for our development teams. It is a great opportunity to grow your product skills while taking real ownership of the day-to-day delivery process.
Your Typical Day
- Support the Product Management team in refining product requirements and translating approved PRDs into implementation-ready epics, user stories and tickets
- Ensure user stories have clear acceptance criteria and are sufficiently refined before entering development
- Maintain and order the backlog according to priorities set by product leadership
- Take part in regular and ad hoc meetings to clarify product requirements with development, design and other delivery teams
- Support our two-week delivery cycle by ensuring development teams have the information and decisions they need to proceed
- Identify missing requirements, dependencies, open decisions and blockers early, and escalate them to Product or Delivery
- Work closely with QA to communicate product and release priorities, clarify acceptance criteria, and support defect triage and release-readiness decisions
- Support the BI team by translating product questions, KPIs and tracking needs into clear data requirements
- Maintain clear and up-to-date product documentation in Jira and Confluence
We Look For
- Passion for building products for LGBTQ+ communities
- Initial experience in a Product Owner or similar product delivery role, ideally in a B2C environment
- Experience writing or refining user stories and acceptance criteria
- Good understanding of Agile product development, ideally hands-on experience with Scrum and/or Kanban
- Comfortable working with Jira and Confluence; experience with Xray is a plus
- Organised, detail-oriented and reliable in following work through to completion
- Based in Berlin or willing to relocate, happy to work from our Wittenbergplatz office at least three days per week
- Excellent written and spoken English skills, ideally at a native or near-native level
What We Offer
- A hands-on role working on an established European digital product during a significant phase of product and technology transformation
- Close collaboration with Product, Design, Engineering, QA and BI
- Hybrid working (3 days per week in our Berlin office at Wittenbergplatz)
- €40 employer contribution towards the Germany Job Ticket
- EGYM Wellpass (only €20/month employee contribution)
- In-house German classes
- Annual learning budget (e.g. for conferences, courses, certifications)
