About the Role

Your Journey

ROMEO is the queer company behind the legendary ROMEO dating app, one of Europe's longest-standing dating platforms for queer communities. We are looking for a Product Owner to join our Product team in Berlin and help shape how ideas and product requirements make their way into the hands of millions of users. In this delivery-focused role, you will work closely with Product Management, Design, Engineering, QA and BI to turn product priorities into clear, actionable work for development teams.

Your Typical Day

  • Support the Product Management team in refining product requirements and translating approved PRDs into implementation-ready epics, user stories and tickets.
  • Ensure user stories have clear acceptance criteria and are sufficiently refined before entering development.
  • Maintain and order the backlog according to priorities set by product leadership.
  • Support the two-week delivery cycle by ensuring development teams have the information and decisions they need to proceed.
  • Identify missing requirements, dependencies, open decisions and blockers early, escalating them to Product or Delivery.
  • Work closely with QA to communicate product and release priorities and support defect triage and release-readiness decisions.
  • Support the BI team by translating product questions, KPIs and tracking needs into clear data requirements.
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date product documentation in Jira and Confluence.

We Look For

  • Passion for building products for LGBTQ+ communities.
  • Initial experience in a Product Owner or similar product delivery role, ideally in a B2C environment.
  • Experience writing or refining user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Good understanding of Agile product development, ideally hands-on with Scrum and/or Kanban.
  • Comfortable working with Jira and Confluence; experience with Xray is a plus.
  • Based in Berlin or willing to relocate, working from the Wittenbergplatz office at least three days per week.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills, ideally at a native or near-native level.

What We Offer

A hands-on role on an established European digital product during a significant transformation phase, hybrid working (3 days/week in the Berlin office), €40 employer contribution towards the Germany Job Ticket, EGYM Wellpass, in-house German classes, and an annual learning budget.
