About the Role

The Scope

The Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer is responsible for implementing, operating, maintaining, and continuously improving FSC's cloud and on-premises infrastructure services. The role ensures the availability, reliability, security, and performance of infrastructure platforms that support FSC's business operations and digital services. As part of the Operations & Cybersecurity function within the Technology & Information Unit (TIU), the role works closely with Platform & DevOps, Service Management, Technical Product Owners, and business stakeholders.

Main Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, operate, and continuously improve cloud and on-premises infrastructure services that support FSC's global operations and digital platforms.
  • Administer and optimize infrastructure technologies, including cloud platforms, Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, networking, storage, and enterprise collaboration services.
  • Manage the infrastructure lifecycle, including provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, monitoring, capacity management, and decommissioning.
  • Support cloud adoption and modernization initiatives through the implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient hybrid infrastructure solutions.
  • Ensure the availability, performance, reliability, security, and operational stability of infrastructure services.
  • Deploy, configure, and operate infrastructure using approved automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) patterns, and platform standards.
  • Maintain backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity team to implement security controls, remediate vulnerabilities, and maintain compliance.
  • Support networking services, including LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, cloud networking, and secure connectivity.
  • Support the infrastructure requirements of enterprise cloud, data, analytics, AI, and business application platforms.
  • Leverage approved AI-assisted tools to improve troubleshooting, documentation, knowledge management, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation, technical standards, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.

Your Profile

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications desirable, such as Microsoft Azure Administrator/Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Red Hat Certified Specialist, Terraform Associate, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments, including Microsoft Azure and/or AWS, Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, networking, and enterprise infrastructure services.
  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments, infrastructure operations, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and results-driven, with a focus on service reliability, operational excellence, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-assisted tools and modern technologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, virtualization, identity and access management, networking, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native data and AI platforms, including Microsoft Fabric and Azure AI services.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written). German is an advantage.

Location: Bonn, Germany. Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week. Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible).
