What is a Trainee Program?

Unlike a standard Junior position, a Trainee Program is a highly structured, 18-to-24-month rotational initiative.

As a trainee at a major corporation (like Siemens, Adidas, DHL, or SAP), you do not sit in one department. Instead, you rotate through 3 to 5 different departments (e.g., Marketing, Supply Chain, International Sales) spending 3-6 months in each.

These programs are heavily funded, highly competitive, and are explicitly designed to groom the future management elite of the company.

The "International" Trainee Loophole

While standard trainee programs at traditional German banks or automakers require C1 German, nearly all global German multinationals offer an International Trainee Program.

Because these programs require you to spend at least one rotation abroad (e.g., spending 6 months at the New York or Singapore office), the mandatory working language for the entire program is English.

What They Look For These programs are incredibly selective.
